Product Overview
The SI886XXISO-KIT from Silicon Labs is a Si886xx DC to DC digital isolator evaluation kit. To evaluate the performance of the Si88xx digital isolators with integrated DC to DC converter family of products. The evaluation board has the Si88621ED-IS populated to showcase the Si886xx family this addition to the Si88xx family of products has extended DC to DC converter capabilities compared to the Si8824x. The Si8862x products can be used with an external switch that extends the input voltage of the dc-dc converter from 5V to 24V and power from 2W to 5W with a best conversion efficiency. It is a complete solution for using a 24V primary supply to deliver up to 5W on the secondary side at 3V to 5V supply voltage. Convenient test points are included to measure and observe time varying currents and voltages to calculate relevant parameters like efficiency, load/line regulation etc.
- High-speed isolators with integrated DC to DC converter
- Fully-integrated secondary sensing feedback-controlled converter with dithering for low EMI
- DC to DC converter peak efficiency of 83% with external power switch
- Options include DC to DC shutdown, frequency control and soft start
- High transient immunity of 100KV/µs (typical)
- Isolation of up to 5000Vrms
