AD8363 is a TruPwr™ true rms responding power detector that can be directly driven with a single-ended 50 ohm source. This feature makes this frequency versatile by eliminating the need for a balun or any other form of external input tuning for operation up to 6GHz. This provides an accurate power measurement, independent of waveform, for a variety of high frequency communication and instrumentation systems. Requiring only a single supply of 5V and a few capacitors, it is easy to use and provides high measurement accuracy. It can determine the true power of a high frequency signal having a complex low frequency modulation envelope, or it can be used as a simple low frequency rms voltmeter. Application includes power amplifier linearization/control loops, multi-standard, multi-carrier wireless infrastructure, transmitter power control, transmitter signal strength indication, RF instrumentation.

- Linear-in-decibels output, scaled is 52mV/dB, Log conformance error <lt/>±0.15dB
- Temperature stability <lt/>±0.5dB, power-down capability to 1.5mW
- Typical logarithmic slope is 52mV/dB (VPOS=5V, TA=25°C, ZO=50 ohm)
- Input voltage range is 2.5V (VPOS=5V, TA=25°C, ZO=50 ohm)
- Typical output voltage: high power in is 1.84V (PIN=−15dBm, VPOS=5V, TA=25°C, ZO=50 ohm)
- Temperature rating range from -40°C to +125°C
