MAX6686AU75L+ is a dual-output temperature switch that uses an external diode-connected transistor as a sensing element. This device has two logic outputs (THIGH and TLOW). THIGH asserts a logic signal when the remote temperature crosses the factory-programmed, +120°C, or +125°C upper trip threshold. TLOW is asserted when the remote temperature exceeds the lower threshold, which is controlled by pins S1 and S2. The lower thresholds are available in two ranges in 5°C increments. It is used in applications such as CPU temperature, protection, fan control, multichip modules, FPGA temperature, protection.
- Open drain, active low (TLOW output)
- TLOW trip range is +75°C to +115°C
- THIGH trip threshold is +120°C
- Power-supply voltage range from 3V to 5.5V
- Average supply current is 200µA typical at (VDD = 3.0V to 5.5V, TA = -40°C to +125°C)
- Supply current during conversion is 400µA typical at (TA = +25°C)
- Input current is 10µA maximum at (VDD = 3.0V to 5.5V, TA = -40°C to +125°C)
- POR threshold hysteresis is 50mV typical at (VDD = 3.0V to 5.5V, TA = -40°C to +125°C)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C
