The SMDJ33CA from Littelfuse is a SMDJ series 3000W, surface mount bidirectional transient voltage suppression diode in DO-214AB package. It features excellent clamping capability, low incremental surge resistance, low profile package, moulded plastic body over glass passivated junction, built-in strain relief and fast response time of typically less than 1.0ps from 0Vs to BV minimum. The peak pulse power dissipation (PPPM) is 3000W at TA=25°C, 10/1000μs waveform, 0.01% repetition rate (duty cycle) and power dissipation is 6.5W on infinite heat sink at TL=50°C. This SMDJ series transient voltage suppression diode is designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. It is ideal for the protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus and other vulnerable circuits.
- Reverse stand off voltage (VR) of 33V and maximum reverse leakage (IR) of 2µA at VR
- Breakdown voltage (VBR) of 36.7V minimum, 40.6V maximum at 1mA test current (IT)
- Maximum clamping voltage (VC) of 53.3V at IPP and maximum peak pulse current (IPP) of 56.3A
- Typical failure mode is short from over specified voltage or current
- UL E230531 approved, plastic package is flammability rated V-0 per UL standard
- IEC-61000-4-2 ESD 30KV (air), 30KV (contact) protection
- Suitable for surface mounted applications to optimize board space
- Operating temperature range from -65°C to 150°C and 260°C/40sec high temperature to reflow soldering
- ESD protection of data lines with IEC 61000-4-2 and EFT protection with IEC 61000-4-4 standard
