MAX3313ECUB+T is a low-power, 5V EIA/TIA232-compatible transceiver. This device has one transmitter and one receiver. The transmitter has a proprietary low-dropout transmitter output stage enabling RS-232-compatible operation from a +5V supply with a single inverting charge pump. This transceiver requires only three 0.1µF capacitors and will run at data rates up to 460kbps while maintaining RS-232-compatible output levels. It features an active-low INVALID output that asserts high when an active RS-232 cable signal is connected, signalling to the host that a peripheral is connected to the communication port. It is used in applications such as digital cameras, PDAs, GPS, POS, telecommunications, handy terminals, set-top boxes.

- Supply current is 100µA typ at (VCC=+5V, C1 and C2=0.1µF, TA=+25°C,active-low SHDN=VCC, no load)
- Input hysteresis (receiver input) is 0.5V typical at (VCC = +5V, C1 and C2 = 0.1µF, TA = +25°C)
- Input resistance (receiver input) is 5Kohm typical at (VCC = +5V, C1 and C2 = 0.1µF, TA = +25°C)
- Output leakage current (transmitter output) is ±25µA max at (VOUT = ±12V, transmitter disabled)
- Maximum data rate is 460Kbps minimum at (RL= 3Kohm, CL= 1000pF)
- Receiver propagation delay is 0.15µs typ at (receiver input to receiver output, CL = 150pF)
- Transition region slew rate is 11V/µs typ at (RL = 3Kohm to 7Kohm, CL = 150pF to 1000pF)
- Operating temperature range from 0°C to +70°C, 10 µMAX package
