The Altistart 48 soft start/soft stop unit is a controller with 6 thyristors used for torque-controlled soft starting and stopping of three-phase squirrel cage asynchronous motors.It is a cost-effective solution which can reduce machine operating costs by reducing mechanical stress and improving machine availability> it can also reduce the stress on the electrical distribution system by reducing line current peaks and voltage drops during motor starts.
